The Drinkwell 360 Replacement Filters keep water clean & fresh and are designed to fit only the Drinkwell 360 Fountain. The cylindrical filter features a pull-tab for easy placement and removal. The filter contains granulated carbon for extended filtration and the duo density polyester pad captures debris. Filters should be replaced every 2 weeks. I've got to figure out how to open and refill these with activated charcoal from the pet shop, because they reduce the flow of water and need to be replaced in about a week. This is the worst designed water filter I've ever seen for a pet water bowl. I should have paid better attention to the reviews on the bowl...

I like the Drinkwell 360 very much and so do my cats. I bought the stainless steel version. These filters are good and don't need to be replaced that often.

I think the 360 fountain is good, although is not totally cleanable (there are some spots that I cannot reach even with a cotton swab). Since my cat started to eat canned food, this fountain has been requiring to be cleaned 2 or 3 times a week. The water becomes white and disgusting. I thought maybe it was because I hadn't been changing the filter so frequently, but now I've been changing it twice a month and I still have to clean everything 2-3 times/week.
Probably it is all about the canned food and my cat might be producing more saliva, but I'm almost changing the fountain for the old ceramic bowl.
Despite that, before this whole problem started, I rate the filter as a 4 star product.

i have 5 cats that drink from the foutain. i put ice cubes into the bowl to chill the water and to watch them play with the cubes. at first, changing filters every week or 2 weeks got expensive and adds to the landfill. however, i experimented with opening them up. i lightly squeeze them in a vice. then i split them apart with a small screwdriver. i cut filters from "filter cloth" pads available at fish/pet stores. i replace the charcoal, also from pet stores. (plain charcoal, not mixed with ammonia remover) i rinse as instructed and have had no problems. i change them more frequently now. i used original drinkwell 360 filters. i can make a video showing my process if someone needs help. hope this works for someone else.
