This had no effect whatsoever - all four of my cats didn't even seem to notice it at all. They completely disregarded it.
I tried it for both scratching and inappropriate elimination - rated a complete zero in both categories. TOTAL WASTE of money!!!

I bought a new rug that my cat didn't like, and he told me so by peeing all over it. When I bought Feliway I washed the rug first and then sprayed the pheromones after it dried. The effects were immediate! My cat wouldn't even walk on the rug.
You will need to periodically reapply the spray. But it works wonders.

The Feliway spray does what it is meant to do. As a woman who has 6 cats in her household (ferals, strays and rescues), Feliway products are fantastic when it comes to integrating a new cat into our colony and ensuring that there is less marking behavior and less stress. I have used the Feliway spray for 8 years or so along with the Feliway Plug-In Diffuser with Refill, 48 Milliliters diffusers in various parts of our house. They really do work with helping the cats feel more at ease and at home. I do use Feliway in combination with Rescue Remedy Pet - 10 ml - Liquid and Nutri-Vet Pet-Ease Paw-Gel for Cats, 3-Ounce. In combination I believe that all of these things have helped our cats adjust to change in the social structure and territory through the addition of a new stray.
The reason I give this particular spray a 4-star review is because of the spray bottle design. This is different from prior versions and I have found that our spray is experiencing leaking around the metal ring below the sprayer. I am not sure if this is just a fluke with my bottle or this is a general design flaw. I did want to bring it up. The leak results in wasted product on my fingers. I need the product so I am not returning it as defective.
This is just something to watch out for. In the past, Feliway came in a completely plastic bottle and sprayer. The new version is slightly different.
Use the product with confidence but please be aware of potential leakage from this new design.

The Feliway Behavior Spray is a great product and really works! I ordered only one to try it out because I have a cat that nothing else has helped with his spraying on carpet mats around my home. Well, I did exactly what it said and sure enough my cat has not urinated one time on any of the mats. I will continue to use without any reservations.
