I have been using a baby gate for the past two years to block off a room where our dogs stay. This gate has been wonderful. We really like that you can open and close the gate with one hand----no more hassle with taking down and putting up a gate several times a day. The only caution I would give on this product is that it is a bit tricky to install. I was just an inch too wide on the opening and ordered the extension as well. The gate is designed to operate properly when it is level. This was a bit difficult due to the fact that my door casings were not completely straight. Other than this, the gate is great and I wouldn't want to go back to using the other removable gates.

This is the perfect gate for us! My two 40 lb dogs who love to jump cannot knock this gate over and the pass through door keeps us from having to step over the gate like we did with our last one. We just love it!

This is the most secure gate I have bought. I bought it because it screwed into the wall but the posts are secure without having to screw it in. I have a very active pit bull and this gate keeps him in the room. He hasn't been able to get through it, jump over it or knock it down.

This would have been a perfect gate for our mid-size mixed breed hound/beagle type, except that he's a climber. We should have named him Houdini. He was able to put his front paws on top of the gate, and climb the bars with his back paws, vaulting himself right over. He spent most days lounging on my sofa while I was at work, and I'd come home to pee on the rug, because he didn't want to climb back over to go to his wee-wee-pad area. This is an excellent gate for dogs that won't or can't climb.
