in several of the packages of filters I've bought one of the filters was not sewn all the way around and the charcoal spilled out and I could not use the filter because the charcoal would have spilled into the water in the fountain. I didn't return filters because filters are not available in my area and I have to order them and I would have to mail them back each time.
Great for cats, fresh water July 11, 2010

Easy to use, rinse before inserting, keeps water fresh and clean for over a month. My cats love the flowing water. In the summer, I add ice cubes to the bowl. When I change the filter, I wash the entire bowl in hot, soapy water and rinse well. I use the great "Drinkwell" cleaning kit to scrub the nooks and crannies. This takes only 5 minutes per month. Love it!!!

I already prefer this fountain/filter to the Petmate one that I used to have. The cat prefers it because the water comes out like a faucet. The old one ran down a slope so it wasn't as fun for her. Great product! I've already recommended it to friends.
