Product Description
A healthy way to get cats to drink more water! The fountain features a quiet motor and continuously running, filtered and aerated water. The trickling water attracts pets; and cats, especially, love running water. This isn't an item that's worthy of a typical review. Either they work or not. I can tell you without these filters, the water is not near as clean. These filters pick up algae, food particles, hair, etc, hold on to it so as not to dump it back into the well for the animals to drink. The instructions say these should be replaced every 2-4 weeks but actually, they last much longer. Keep an eye on the filter and when it begins to get "gunky", it's time to replace it.

Drinkwell Original 2-Chamber Replacement Filters are a good filter. I've found if you rinse them in running water until they run clear they can be reused about two or three times, depending on your water quality.
These are designed for the Drinkwell Original Pet Fountain, and they do their job well.

I don't have a lot to say about a simple filter, but they do seem to make a difference to my cats. I have one cat who puts cat food in the water dish, and the filter seems to keep the water clean enough for the other cat to still drink from it. I do go longer than recommeded between replacements. The filter lasts at least a month in our fountain.
